Welcome to the first newsletter of 2026, where we're starting the new year with burnout - or rather an analysis of the harmful effects it can have on overstretched IT teams. In fact, according to Logicalis UKI's Mike Fry, burnout might pose a bigger and more hidden threat to business security than hackers themselves. "Cybersecurity burnout is an internal pressure that quietly weakens an organisation’s defences long before an external attack takes hold," writes Mike in this issue. "It operates like a sleeping giant within the business, largely unnoticed until its effects emerge in missed alerts, slower responses and reduced resilience. Once it stirs, the impact is immediate and far-reaching, striking at the core of an organisation’s ability to respond when it matters most."

The best way to address this begins with leadership engagement as much as technical change according to Mike, and in his opinion piece he offers a guide to recognising and remediating the effects of burnout before it's too late.

We also have part two of our guide to Networking as a Service (NaaS) from Cloud Gateway's Justin Day. As Justin explains, "Understanding what NaaS can really do is only half the story. The real challenge lies in knowing if your organisation is ready to take the leap. And then, to approach adoption in a way that delivers those promised benefits while positioning your organisation for a SASE-based future." Read Justin's article for a guide to where NaaS and SASE are heading and whether it's time to rethink the role of the network in your business.

We're also taking a look at the year ahead for the cloud, as Pulsant's Mike Coupland explains why 2026 is set to be a year of repatriation, resilience, and regional rebalancing for cloud strategy.
